The Social Justice and Struggle Party (TAM Party) has announced the candidates it will support in the upcoming local elections. Party leader Serdar Denktaş stated that the candidates mentioned in the announcements were determined by the Central Management Committee (MYK) within the party.
Denktaş emphasized that, according to the principle he outlined, municipalities that perform well should be supported, noting that in this context, the candidates for a total of 8 municipalities have been finalized in the first phase. He provided further information about the candidate list, stating that efforts are ongoing to clarify the situation in certain areas.
Denktaş indicated that for the Lapta–Alsancak–Çamlıbel (LAÇ) Municipality, the decision to determine a candidate for mayor has been left open, emphasizing that members and voters in this area have been given freedom.
The TAM Party has decided to run in the elections with its own list for the municipal council seats in Lapta–Alsancak–Çamlıbel and Dikmen Municipalities. Denktaş noted that discussions within the MYK regarding the other 10 municipalities are continuing and that decisions concerning these regions will be shared with the public shortly.
Denktaş revealed the supported candidates as a result of evaluations conducted in the MYK and the voting processes within the party council. The names of these candidates are as follows: Hasan Sadıkoğlu from İskele Municipality, Ali Karavezirler from Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality, Hüseyin Amcaoğlu from Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality, Hayri Orçan from Tatlısu Municipality, Murat Şenkul from Girne Municipality, with an open release for LAÇ Municipality, and for the municipal council, finally Selahattin Çello from Dikmen Municipality, also for the municipal council under the TAM Party. Additionally, Cemil Sarıçizmeli is among the candidates to be supported for Mehmetçik-Büyükkonuk Municipality.
