Famagusta Municipality has signed a contract to purchase a new garbage collection vehicle to enhance the city’s cleaning services and strengthen its fleet. The contract includes the acquisition of a Mercedes-Benz Arocs model hydraulic compaction garbage truck, produced in 2026.
The contract was signed today between Famagusta Municipality and Serhan Kombos Automotive Ltd. The total cost of the garbage truck has been set at £133,848, reflecting the extent of the municipality’s investment in this initiative.
During the signing ceremony, Famagusta Mayor Süleyman Uluçay, the Chair of the Tender Commission Özkan Oza, and other commission members were present. It was announced that the vehicle would be delivered to the municipality within 180 calendar days.
The new truck is expected to be equipped with a body that has a capacity of 22 cubic meters and a loading compartment of 1.5 cubic meters. These features are anticipated to contribute to more efficient waste collection operations.
Mayor Uluçay emphasized the importance of investments in vehicles and equipment during the signing ceremony, reiterating their commitment to making city services more sustainable. He also expressed gratitude to those who contributed to ensuring the transparency and diligence of the tender process.
