The National Unity Party (UBP), under the leadership of its chairman Ünal Üstel, evaluated the upcoming electoral processes at a Party Council meeting and announced the mayoral candidates for Lefke and Yeniboğaziçi. The candidates were revealed with the approval of the Party Council, following the recommendations of the Central Executive Board (CEB).
In this context, the mayoral candidate for Lefke has been determined as Civil Engineer Hasan Öksüz, while the candidate for Yeniboğaziçi is Businessman Tanyel Öztemiz. Ünal Üstel expressed confidence that UBP will succeed in both elections during his speech about the upcoming races.
Üstel stated, “We will continue to serve both nationally and locally by winning victories in both elections. By maintaining stability, we will hold on to power,” emphasizing UBP’s strength and determination in preparation for the elections.
After the meeting, Ünal Üstel visited the UBP organizations in Kızılbaş, Taşkınköy, Marmara, and Yenişehir in Nicosia, engaging with party members. He highlighted that the stability provided by the government would also be conveyed to local administrations, assuring the people of Nicosia that they will receive the services they deserve.
Üstel described UBP as the strongest political structure and announced that they will act with the same understanding of service in the local elections. He noted that they would directly engage with the public during the election campaign and called on party members to help restore the National Unity Party as the leading party.
Reminding that Nicosia is not under UBP control, Üstel stated that the local elections to be held on December 6 would initiate a new era of services in Nicosia. He added that necessary steps would be taken for Nicosia to become a modern city.
Finally, he remarked that the collaboration between the central government and local administration would yield significant benefits for Nicosia, concluding his speech with, “Our love is for our people. Our struggle is for our country.”
