Four suspects arrested in connection with a murder case in Girne appeared in court again today. The incident resulted in the death of Nizam Allanazarov due to a knife attack. In the hearing held at the Girne District Court, it was decided to extend the custody period of the four suspects for another 7 days.

Initially, following the stabbing murder of Nizam Allanazarov, seven people were detained. The custody periods of the four suspects under investigation were extended by the court based on the ongoing investigation. The key suspect, M.Q., is being charged with “Intentional Manslaughter” and “Carrying a Knife Illegally,” while the other three suspects, R.A., A.D., and R.K., are facing charges of “Carrying Drugs Illegally.”
Police officials stated that the suspects’ testimonies have not yet been taken, while it was noted that new findings have emerged in the investigation regarding M.Q. The police emphasized that there are surveillance footage to be analyzed and testimonies that need to be taken, pointing out the necessity for M.Q. to remain in custody for an additional 7 days.
Drug Allegations and Charges
During the court proceedings, the statements of the concerned parties regarding the charges were thoroughly evaluated. It was stated that R.A. and A.D. were traveling in the same vehicle as Allanazarov, and drugs were found during a search of that vehicle. R.K., on the other hand, is facing charges for possessing drugs at the time of his arrest. Additionally, it was determined that R.K. was staying illegally.
Suspect R.A. claimed he could not remember the events and requested clarification of the details. He also expressed a desire to be checked at a hospital for treatment of his injuries during the hearing. The other two suspects, A.D. and R.K., refrained from making any defense in court.
Meanwhile, a broad investigation into the incident is ongoing, and statements from 12 witnesses have been taken so far. In light of the developments, it has been decided that the suspects will remain in custody for another 7 days.
