An incident that occurred during a prostitution negotiation in Nicosia resulted in a young girl’s fall. Two Nigerians, F.O.N.O. and A.M.O.A.Q., have been brought to court for allegedly causing 20-year-old Z.Ç. to fall from a height of 9.5 meters from an apartment window.
The event took place around 11:30 PM on September 5, 2026. A police officer who testified in court stated that the argument arose between Z.Ç. and F.O.N.O. over the payment for sexual services. During this dispute, it is claimed that the two suspects caused the young girl to fall from the window.
After the incident, Z.Ç., who sustained serious injuries, was taken to the Emergency Department of Nicosia State Hospital for treatment. Following the initial intervention, she was reported to have been moved to the intensive care unit and began receiving treatment in the neurosurgery department on September 7.
Following a report regarding the incident, the police began investigations at the scene to understand what had transpired. As a result of the inquiries, the suspects were identified and apprehended shortly afterward.
It has been reported that the testimonies of nine witnesses have been taken against the suspects. Additionally, camera footage related to the incident has been obtained and is being examined. According to the information presented to the court, the suspects voluntarily provided statements regarding the incident.
In court, A.M.O.A.Q. stated that the conditions in their holding cell were poor. He also mentioned that he has been unable to brush his teeth since Saturday. The court decided that the suspects should remain in custody for eight days for investigation purposes.
