E.K. (19), who was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Gazimagusa, was brought back to court. The court decided to extend the suspect’s remand period. According to information provided by the police during the hearing, an additional 3-day remand order was issued for the suspect.
The incident occurred in October 2025. It was reported that the suspect forcibly abducted the 12-year-old girl and took her to the Gülseren Region. There, E.K. assaulted the girl and allegedly covered her mouth while forcing her into sexual intercourse. Following the girl’s father reporting the incident to the police on August 10, 2026, an investigation was launched.
Police officer Muhammet Göztaş stated that three different medical examinations were conducted regarding the incident. Some findings related to the sexual assault were discovered during these examinations, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
