On August 29, 2026, extensive inspections were carried out across five districts, where police teams checked a total of 11,686 vehicles. During these inspections, legal action was initiated against 2,067 drivers for various traffic violations, and 47 vehicles were impounded.
The inspections were reinforced by the participation of the Special Operations and Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate teams, emphasizing safety and traffic security. Controls were conducted in public venues such as entertainment establishments and nightclubs, leading to the detention of 37 individuals found with no legal status.
One driver attempted to flee when a traffic stop was initiated, and upon further inspection, it was found that this individual was in possession of one gram of cannabis, leading to their arrest. This incident underscores the vital importance of these inspections.
Among the reported traffic offenses, the most notable was exceeding the legal speed limit. A total of 824 drivers were fined for this offense, and 18 others faced legal action for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Additionally, other rule violations were detected, such as driving without a license or without valid insurance for the vehicle. During the inspections, a total of 835 different traffic offenses were recorded, indicating that drivers need to be more vigilant in adhering to traffic rules.
Following these inspections, legal proceedings have also been initiated against operators of entertainment venues. Two establishments faced legal penalties due to the lack of proper licensing. This situation has brought to light the ongoing efforts by authorities to protect public health.
