Kyrenia Mayor Murat Şenkul has launched harsh criticisms against the government regarding the recent murders, stabbings, and traffic accidents occurring in the country. Şenkul expressed his discontent to the Interior Minister and the Prime Minister from the UBP-DP-YDP coalition government in light of these incidents.
Recent Incidents and the Issue of Illegal Population
In a social media post, Şenkul drew attention to several serious crimes that took place nationwide last week. He emphasized that some of these incidents involved individuals who had entered the country illegally, while others involved tourists.
Among the recent incidents highlighted are the murder of a citizen by an illegal immigrant in the Bogaz region, a stabbing of a woman by a tourist in a market in Kyrenia, and an accident caused by another tourist who was driving under the influence. Additionally, Şenkul noted that the number of traffic accidents resulting in non-fatal injuries and other legal incidents has also been increasing.
