In a drug operation conducted in Gonyeli, the detention process for three young men found with cannabis at their homes is ongoing. During a search carried out by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate on August 26, 2026, it was determined that the suspects had approximately 16 grams of cannabis.
The suspects, A.G. (19), H.S. (21), and A.A. (20), were brought to court. During questioning, the young men confessed that they purchased 20 grams of cannabis for 330 Euros through a person they met online and admitted to consuming part of the substance.
It was reported that the arrested young men provided details during police interrogation. The police announced that the seized drugs were sent to the State Chemistry Laboratory for analysis. Additionally, it was stated that the individual responsible for selling the drugs is also being sought.
The police requested that the suspects remain in custody for one more week to conduct a more thorough investigation. The court approved this request and extended their detention period.
This incident was uncovered during inspections as part of the fight against drugs. Authorities stated that searches will continue and efforts to apprehend those involved in drug trafficking will persist.
