The Metehan Stage 2 Sewage Construction Project is advancing with significant infrastructure investment. The Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality (LTB) has successfully completed the tender process for the project and has signed the necessary contract.
Investment Details and Project Scope
The signed contract was concluded between LTB President Mehmet Harmancı and Sıtkı Sıtkıoğulları, owner of Sıtkıoğulları Construction Ltd. The project involves a total investment of 103.5 million TL. Of this investment, 30 million TL is allocated for material supply, while the remaining 70.5 million TL will be used to construct a new sewage line spanning a total length of 5,600 meters.
The scope includes the establishment of sewage infrastructure in many streets such as Kemal Şemiler Avenue, Özdemir Sennaroğlu Street, and İsmail Sadıkoğlu Street, as well as surrounding areas. This step will support the region’s development potential and facilitate the connection of approximately 3,000 households to the sewage network.
Improvement with New Pump Station
The project is not limited to new sewage lines; it also includes the establishment of an additional pump station in the region. With the operationalization of this station, the previously laid streets in İbrahim İlkman Avenue and Kermiya Şht. Arsaları Phase 3 will be connected to the sewage system. Thus, the efficiency and integrity of the sewage infrastructure in the area will be enhanced.
With this investment, LTB aims to create a healthy living environment in Metehan as part of its efforts to modernize the region’s infrastructure. It is anticipated that strengthening the existing infrastructure will also improve the living standards of the residents.
