New appointments have been made to the Command of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Peace Forces and Security Forces. Following these appointments on August 27, 2026, President Tufan Erhürman, Speaker of Parliament Ziya Öztürkler, and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel welcomed the new commanders.
Reception of New Commanders
President Tufan Erhürman separately received Lieutenant General Ertan İnaltekin, Commander of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Peace Forces, and Brigadier General Şükrü Bilir, Commander of the Security Forces, at the Presidential office. Erhürman wished the commanders success in their new roles and emphasized the importance of their responsibilities.
