President Nikos Hristodulidis issued a significant message on the 66th anniversary of the establishment of the Cyprus Republic. He stated that this date represents a critical turning point in the historical process of Cyprus.
In his announcement, he emphasized that the Cyprus Republic is the most important achievement for the people of the island. He noted that August 16 symbolizes independence as a result of the national liberation struggle conducted through the EOKA terrorist organization.
