New Appointments and Changes in Command
Recent appointments have led to significant changes in the Command of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Peace Forces (KTBK) and the Security Forces Command. Official decisions published in the Official Gazette, signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, have designated the postings for 205 generals and admirals.
General Ertan İnaltekin has been appointed as the Commander of KTBK and has commenced his duties. This new appointment signifies a major shift within the military structure in Northern Cyprus. İnaltekin’s command marks a notable change in the military administration in the region.
Changes in Security Forces
Additionally, Major General İlker Görgülü, the Commander of the Security Forces, has been assigned to the 28th Mechanized Infantry Division Command. This transition may also lead to changes in military planning in the area.
In place of İlker Görgülü, Major General Şükrü Bilir, who served as the Head of the General Staff’s Current Operations Department, has taken on the important responsibility of Commander of the Security Forces.
