Last night, the police departments of Lefkoşa and İskele conducted simultaneous public order and traffic inspections. The aim of these inspections was stated to be enhancing road safety and public security. The inspections were carried out between 8 PM and midnight.
In this context, the police imposed administrative fines on 67 individuals prohibited from entering casinos and reported 1,326 drivers. Additionally, a total of 82 vehicles were impounded.
Measures Taken During Inspections in Lefkoşa
During the public order inspections in Lefkoşa, entertainment venues, places selling alcoholic beverages, night clubs, casinos, coffee houses, and crowded public areas were monitored. Legal action was initiated against 30 individuals found in the casino despite being banned. Three individuals who were residing illegally were arrested.
Traffic teams inspected a total of 5,030 drivers, of which 442 were reported for speeding, and 37 for not wearing seat belts. In total, 1,029 drivers were legally processed for various traffic violations, and 11 vehicles were impounded.
Inspections Conducted in İskele
Similar inspections were carried out in İskele, where entertainment venues, alcohol sales points, and casinos were monitored. In these inspections, 37 individuals were fined for entering the casino unlawfully.
In traffic inspections, 1,640 drivers were checked. Among them, 77 drivers exceeded the speed limit, 56 drove without licenses, 20 without inspections, and 13 without insurance. A total of 297 drivers faced legal action, and 71 vehicles were also impounded.
