In Famagusta, two individuals accused of possessing drugs were brought before the court following an operation conducted by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate. The suspects, identified as F.T. and B.E.C., were found with a total of 25 grams of cannabis and were referred to court with a request for extended custody. The court ruled that the suspects would remain in police custody for an additional 8 days pending analysis results.
The location where the drugs were seized was F.T.’s residence on September 5. Police officer Cenk Teran reported that 5 grams of cannabis were found during the search. As the investigation deepened, it was established that F.T. had obtained the drugs from B.E.C., leading to a raid on B.E.C.’s apartment.
During this raid, an additional 20 grams of cannabis was seized. As the investigation continued, the police requested that the suspects remain in custody to prevent any adverse situations. This request was evaluated in court, and taking into account the seriousness of the suspects’ situation, it was decided that they would stay in police custody for 8 more days.
This incident is part of the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related issues in the region, and officials emphasize the sensitivity of the matter, noting that narcotics operations will continue.
