Yesterday at the Famagusta District Office, an incident caused by a citizen named F.Y., who attempted to renew their ID, created panic. The incident occurred around 3:00 PM, when the individual resisted requests for a photo and fingerprint, leading to verbal assaults and heightened tension in the environment.
After F.Y. insulted the district office staff, a scuffle occurred inside the building. Due to the seriousness of the situation, it was reported that a female staff member fainted and was subsequently taken to the hospital.
Acting Famagusta District Officer Mustafa Yaver stated that F.Y. also posed difficulties for the police teams executing the arrest. Yaver noted that the individual put up significant resistance to getting into the police vehicle.
While no statement has been made regarding the health status of the staff member taken to the hospital, the district office has filed a complaint for legal action to be taken against F.Y. Yaver emphasized that they are filing a complaint against the individual due to the incident.
It has been learned that F.Y. is to be charged with “disturbance.” The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
