During traffic inspections conducted nationwide last night, a total of 2,187 drivers were checked. In these inspections, two drivers were arrested. In addition, the confiscation of 41 vehicles and the initiation of legal proceedings against 397 drivers drew attention.
Traffic Offenses and Penalties
The Police Press Office shared details regarding the traffic offenses identified during the inspections. Within this scope, 192 drivers were processed for exceeding speed limits. Additionally, 15 drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, and one driver was penalized for driving without a license. Furthermore, seven drivers received fines for driving uninsured vehicles.
Among the checked drivers, two were found using mobile phones while driving, seven were not wearing seat belts, 14 were driving vehicles without inspections, and 33 were driving with an expired registration. Moreover, 18 drivers were penalized for not obeying traffic signals.
Other Offenses and Disturbances
Additionally, one driver was prosecuted for carrying dangerous cargo, and three drivers faced charges for reckless driving. One driver faced legal action for failing to comply with a police stop order. A total of 103 drivers were also reported for other traffic offenses.
Complaints from the public regarding traffic issues have notably included complaints about certain drivers performing speed displays, causing disturbances. It is emphasized that more measures need to be taken to prevent such situations.
