Prime Minister Ünal Üstel provided information about the efforts following the maritime tragedy that occurred off the coast of Girne. He announced that the TCG Işın ship has begun underwater research activities aimed at locating the missing individuals.
Previously, search and rescue teams had mobilized to find the missing. Üstel noted that efforts have been continuing uninterrupted as of the third day, and there have been no new developments regarding the missing citizens. He emphasized that teams are conducting meticulous search operations in designated areas from both aerial and maritime perspectives.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that both judicial and administrative processes are being carried out thoroughly to clarify the causes of the tragedy. Üstel stressed that anyone found to have responsibility or negligence in this incident will be held accountable before the law.
“Anyone who has negligence or fault in this tragedy will be brought to light. Those identified with responsibilities based on the results of the investigation will face justice, regardless of who they are,” he stated.
Üstel affirmed the state’s determination to find the missing individuals and uncover the truth, stating that all efforts are directed towards this goal.
