Significant developments occurred during the meeting of the Law, Political Affairs, Foreign Relations and Defense Committee held at the Assembly. The committee approved the Election and Referendum (Amendment) Bill by a majority vote, moving it forward to the General Assembly.
The committee convened under the leadership of UBP MP Yasemi Öztürk and addressed three agenda items. Initially, a draft bill regarding the request for a 14-foot right of way from a 673 square meter endowed property in Karaağaç was discussed. This bill was unanimously accepted and sent to the General Assembly.
Subsequently, a draft decision regarding the Additional Lease Agreement of the Hafız Hüseyin Şiraz (Hacer) Foundation was evaluated. However, the third consideration of this draft was postponed to the next meeting due to the committee members deeming it not urgent.

Finally, the Election and Referendum (Amendment) Bill presented by Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu on behalf of the UBP Group was discussed. The committee approved the proposal by a majority vote and sent it to the agenda of the General Assembly. Additionally, opinions were shared on the topic with the participation of representatives from the Foundations Organization and the Department of Religious Affairs.
During the meeting, it was stated that the Election and Referendum Bill was generally evaluated, with significant discussions held involving many officials from various political parties. This process allowed for a broader perspective on the issue.
