A Weekend Full of Sports and Entertainment for Youth
The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), in collaboration with Gazimağusa Municipality (GM) and the Gazimağusa Youth Council, hosted the Triple Beach Volleyball Tournament and “Colour Fest” event, bringing together youth for an unforgettable weekend filled with sports, music, and entertainment.
The event took place at the EMU Marine Facilities, where participants engaged in beach volleyball competitions along with various fun activities over the course of two days. A total of 41 teams competed in the U13 and U17 women’s categories, experiencing thrilling moments throughout the tournament.
Excitement of the Tournament and Colorful Activities
The organization featured 45 matches, with 17 teams in the U13 category and 24 in the U17 category. Apart from sports competition, the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship was emphasized. In the U13 category, the team consisting of Derin-Gökçe-Almina emerged victorious, while the Büşra-Melek-Azra team claimed the championship in the U17 category.
The tournament’s most valuable players were Büşra Duran in the U17 category and Gökçe Tepeci in the U13 category. The athletes who ranked received their awards from representatives of EMU’s Student Development, Events, and Sports Affairs Department and Gazimağusa Municipality.
Following the tournament, the weekend’s excitement peaked with the “Colour Fest” event. This entertainment event for youth featured music, dancing, and various activities. Fun reached new heights with events like karaoke and foam parties.
EMU Marine Facilities aims to provide social and sports interaction opportunities for youth through such organizations, contributing to the formation of new friendships and strengthening team spirit. The event allowed youth to play active roles not only in sports but also in their social lives.
In conclusion, this weekend event, organized in collaboration with EMU, Gazimağusa Municipality, and the Youth Council, allowed young people to spend time in a social atmosphere intertwined with sports. EMU once again proved to be an important center hosting youth and sports activities.
