Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Ürün Solyalı announced that they will address the topic of “Community Safety” in the extraordinary session of the General Assembly tomorrow. Solyalı affirmed that the CTP would be present at the meeting in Parliament.
Solyalı highlighted several issues regarding the government’s management of the country, stating that the data regarding the citizen population is not accurately maintained, and there are missing statistics concerning foreigners who have fallen into illegal status. He also emphasized that municipalities are not receiving adequate support.
Concrete Answers Needed for Solutions
Touching on the infrastructure and personnel issues regarding security forces, Solyalı argued that the prison director’s authorities infringe upon the independence of the judiciary. He mentioned a general lack of planning in the country, stating that the government needs to provide concrete answers regarding social security issues during the meeting.
In a post on his social media account, Solyalı stated, “CTP will be in Parliament.” He pointed out that the government should not merely settle for “talking the talk” in the meeting. He also expressed that there should be an active search for solutions regarding community safety issues.
Increased Scrutiny in Upcoming Elections
Solyalı indicated that they would question social issues more rigorously in the upcoming elections. He stressed that the government needs to be sensitive to these types of issues and provide better services to the citizens. Additionally, he underlined the necessity of evaluating past appointments and that the chaos in the country’s administration needs to come to an end.
