The Importance of Security Issues and Population Census

The leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Sıla Usar İncirli, announced that one of the party’s first priorities upon coming to power would be a population census. İncirli emphasized that the current security issues faced by the country stem from a lack of effective governance. She stated that a population census is one of the essential requirements for healthy governance, as it would allow for accurate information regarding the number of people and their statuses in the country.

İncirli pointed out that the government’s measures regarding security are insufficient and expressed awareness of the crisis that people are experiencing in terms of safety. She announced that an extraordinary meeting of the Parliament will be called to address this situation. İncirli strongly believed in the necessity for an increase in the government’s security measures.

Fundamental Changes and Governance Philosophy

The CTP leader presented a clear vision of how the governance would be if the party came to power. She highlighted that the state is designed to serve the people and emphasized that the state institutions should provide services to the citizens. İncirli stated that the poor governance approach of the current government fuels societal security issues, and therefore, CTP aims to gain the public’s trust by presenting a more effective governance philosophy.

İncirli also noted that another aim of CTP is to speed up public processes, ensuring citizens would not have to navigate multiple institutions for a single task, and that they would adopt an inclusive approach towards all segments of society. Furthermore, she asserted that the economic structure should be predictable and rule-based.

While conveying messages about the economy, İncirli stressed that securing the investment climate is crucial and that economic problems extend beyond just budget deficits, highlighting that trust in the government is also an important factor. She underlined the need for fiscal discipline for the economy to improve, expressing a desire to develop a governance approach based on principles of fairness in the business world.

Lastly, CTP leader İncirli shared her views on the resolution of the Cyprus issue, emphasizing that the solution is not only vital for local matters but also pertains to regional peace and cooperation.

İncirli pointed out that citizens of Turkish descent are part of the society and that the social dynamics of Cyprus require establishing an inclusive order. She emphasized the importance of equitable access to public services and pledged that they would work to ensure peace and tranquility in society.
