The Cyprus Statistical Service announced that the annual inflation rate for July 2026 has been set at 2.9%. These figures indicate that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has decreased from 103.00 points to 102.32 points compared to the previous month.
Housing and Energy Prices Are Key Drivers
Various publications, including Alithia newspaper, have noted that, compared to July 2025, consumers felt the most inflationary pressures in July 2026 in essential services such as housing, water, electricity, and fuel. Due to rising costs, these products and services continue to strain citizens’ budgets.
Sectoral Changes and Price Fluctuations
According to the data, between July 2025 and July 2026, the most significant increases were recorded in oil prices at 12.2% and agricultural products at 8.2%. Conversely, a decline of 0.5% was observed in industrial products. This situation is considered a notable indicator of price fluctuations among different sectors of the Cypriot economy.
