Nationwide Traffic Inspections Conducted
The General Directorate of Police traffic teams inspected a total of 2,641 drivers across the country. The purpose of these inspections was announced as enhancing traffic safety and identifying drivers who violate rules.
As a result of the checks, 354 drivers were reported for not complying with traffic regulations. Among these drivers, the most notable statistic was that 143 were found to be driving above the legal speed limit. This situation was considered a serious issue by the police.
Arrests and Vehicle Bans
According to the inspection results, 23 vehicles were banned from the road. Additionally, two drivers were arrested, and an investigation was initiated. This highlighted the seriousness of violating traffic laws.
On the other hand, among the drivers who committed various traffic law violations, 20 were found driving without a license, and 16 were processed for driving under the influence of alcohol. 14 drivers were reported for failing to comply with traffic signs and signals.
Eight drivers who were not wearing seat belts and six drivers who were using mobile phones while driving were also detected during the inspections. Additionally, some drivers were fined for driving uninsured vehicles and not wearing protective helmets.
The police stated that such traffic inspections would continue as a precaution across the country. It was emphasized that drivers need to be more careful on the roads.
