Minister of Labor and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu stated that both local and general elections will be held on December 6, 2026. Hasipoğlu expressed that the decision made in the Cabinet meeting was unanimously accepted by coalition partners. This development has clarified uncertainties among the public regarding the election date, allowing voters to begin their preparation process.
The minister also noted that the decision for the general elections will be presented to the Assembly at the beginning of October. He emphasized that details of the election process will be addressed in the Assembly in the upcoming days. Thus, it has been confirmed that both local and general elections will take place on the same day.
