The Cypriot National Guard (CNG) has opened a new laboratory for the production, design, and development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This laboratory is designed to support the production processes of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAV/FPV).
During the opening of the laboratory, CNG Commander Major General Emmanuel Theodorou visited the facility to learn about the capabilities being offered. The aim is for this new facility to strengthen the CNG’s existing technological infrastructure and better respond to modern military needs.
In a statement from the CNG Headquarters, it was emphasized that the activation of the laboratory will enhance the operational flexibility of the organization. Furthermore, this new capacity is considered a critical step in terms of technological transformation.
Additionally, it was noted that the laboratory will contribute to the development of local technical expertise. This will allow the CNG to design unmanned aerial systems that are more in line with its strategic needs.
With the establishment of the laboratory, the CNG aims to strengthen its autonomy in UAV production and respond swiftly to rapidly changing operational requirements.
