Yilmazkoy hosted the 13th International Folk Dance Culture Festival and the 4th Yilmazkoy Culture Feast, organized by the Gonyeli-Alaykoy Municipality. This event symbolizes the launch of the GABFEST series planned for 2026.
The Mayor of Gonyeli-Alaykoy, Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, stated that the festival would continue from Yilmazkoy to other regions of the city. He detailed the 8-week cultural journey and emphasized the significance of the event.
Amcaoğlu expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the festival happen, highlighting the contributions of municipal council members, municipal staff, the Cyprus Folk Dance Art Center Association, Yilmazkoy Sports Club, and the participating teams.
The mayor also added that the municipality would continue to work with a sense of responsibility and excitement towards Yilmazkoy and its surroundings. He mentioned plans to add value to the region with new projects in the upcoming period.
Following the initial event in Yilmazkoy, GABFEST 2026 will continue with activities at various locations, enriching the cultural life.
