A man named Y.G. was arrested and brought to court for allegedly sexually harassing a 15-year-old girl on Karaoğlanoğlu Beach. The incident occurred on August 20, 2026, and the suspect’s behavior while with the girl in the water raised significant concerns.
According to details of the incident, Y.G. was reported to have followed the 15-year-old girl, who was playing in the water with her friends, and attempted to embrace and kiss her. Immediately after the incident, the girl reported the situation to her family. Subsequently, Y.G. was caught by a nearby crowd while trying to flee and handed over to the police.

Police officer Ali Tanay, who serves in the Criminal Investigation Department of Girne, stated in court that Y.G. was detained on charges of “Sexual Harassment.” The officer mentioned that the child appeared frightened as she was leaving the water and conveyed her experience to her family.
