The “Girne Arkın Group Fest26”, organized for the fourth time this year by the Girne Municipality, was introduced at a press conference held during the week. The festival will take place from August 28 to October 11 at various venues including the Girne Amphitheater and the Western Nature Park.
The first event will kick off on Friday, August 28, with the Ozanköy Pekmez Festival, featuring a concert by the famous artist Leman Sam. The festival will conclude with a final concert by Yıldız Tilbe on October 11.
During the festival, the 4th Müz-Ler Art Symposium will take place at Ramadan Cemil Square from September 12 to 27, with the participation of 30 artists. Additionally, a Gymnastics Show will be held on September 26, along with various events from September 30 to October 4.
This year, the 25th International Girne Olive Festival will also be included in the festival program, starting with a performance by Yeni Türkü. As in previous years, new events expected to attract the community’s interest will be introduced as part of the festival.
Speaking at the press conference, Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul emphasized that the Girne Arkın Group Fest has become a tradition, highlighting the significant role of sponsors in supporting this initiative. He stressed the importance of the efforts made to bring the festival to life.
Şenkul also pointed out that in addition to featuring many esteemed artists, the festival would also provide a platform for local talents. As always, a variety of artists will participate in this year’s festival.
Regarding the festival, Şenkul noted that there could be surprise events, and if these details are finalized, it could add a new dimension to the festival. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to organize free public cinema nights at the Girne Amphitheater.
