Iskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu stated that they are seeking ways to strengthen the city’s industrial structure. In this regard, following the recent visit to the Iskele Small Traders and Industrial Site in June, today he met again with the local tradespeople and industrial organizations in the region. The meeting was attended by Mehmetali Ardıç, President of the Turkish Cypriot Association of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, Hürrem Tulga, General Coordinator of KTEZO, and Serkan Kırmızı, President of IEZB.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that one of the aims of establishing a coalition is to address the issues of the industrial site and to build the region’s future on more solid foundations. Sadıkoğlu noted that these meetings and collaborations would lay the groundwork for projects that would benefit both the industry and traders.
During the discussions, the current situation of the industrial site was analyzed. The stakeholders also had the opportunity to express their suggestions and demands that could contribute to the region’s development. In this context, Sadıkoğlu emphasized the need for a broader plan to be prepared for the industrial site.
Collaboration and Collective Intelligence
Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu highlighted the importance of collective intelligence in advancing the projects related to industrial developments in the region. He stated that solidarity is necessary for most projects carried out in cooperation with IEZB and KTEZO, saying, “We can solve these problems with a collective approach.” He noted that the newly established industrial committee would act swiftly, asserting that significant steps could be taken through collaboration between traders and the municipality.
One of the main agenda items of the first meeting focused on the establishment of the Iskele Industrial Committee. This new body will operate to continuously monitor the issues at the industrial site and develop proposals for solutions. The committee will meet frequently in the future to follow the progress of projects and adopt solution-oriented approaches.
Future Goals
Sadıkoğlu stated that the results obtained will positively reflect not only on industrial traders but also on the local population. It is anticipated that the projects and benefits arising from the development of the industrial site will strengthen Iskele’s economic structure. Additionally, one of the main topics discussed during the meeting was the connection between Iskele Industry and the Karpaz Main Road.
Environmental arrangements, sidewalks, waste collection, and industrial site expansion projects were also discussed. These types of regulations aim to strengthen the region’s infrastructure. Mayor Sadıkoğlu thanked all the tradespeople and industrial organizations participating in these efforts, emphasizing the importance of the synergy that will be created together.
