In recent traffic inspections conducted nationwide, legal actions were taken against 282 drivers. A total of 1,980 drivers were checked during these inspections, and two drivers were arrested. Additionally, 28 vehicles were impounded for violations of traffic regulations.
The traffic teams of the General Directorate of Police reported that 66 drivers were found to be exceeding the legal speed limits, while 19 drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol. The aim of these inspections was to enhance traffic safety and prevent dangerous driving.
The teams also identified two drivers operating vehicles without a license and insurance, as well as noting that 16 drivers took to the roads without any insurance. Furthermore, legal action was taken against 24 drivers lacking a vehicle registration and 12 drivers operating vehicles without a valid inspection.
During the inspections, one driver using a mobile phone, 15 drivers not wearing seat belts, and one driver engaged in dangerous driving were also reported. Additionally, warnings were issued to electric scooter users, and those who violated signs and signals as well as motorcycle riders who were not wearing protective helmets were reported by the teams.
The police urged all drivers to comply with traffic regulations, especially highlighting the dangers of drunk and excessive speeding. It was noted that similar inspections will continue in the future, underscoring the importance of drivers adhering to the rules.
