The 7th Babutsa Culture and Arts Festival, organized by the Geçitkale-Serdarlı Municipality, is preparing to welcome visitors starting tomorrow. The festival will take place from August 14-16 and will host a variety of events.
The first day of the festival will feature events at the 14 August Stadium. The opening ceremony will commence with a parade starting from in front of the municipality at 19:45, followed by the opening speeches at 20:15. The Geçitkale-Serdarlı Municipality Folk Dance Group and other dance groups will perform during the event.
Mayor Halil Kasım shared information about the preparations for the festival, inviting not only the local community but also citizens from all over the island to Serdarlı. Kasım emphasized that the festival offers an important opportunity to enhance cultural values and strengthen social solidarity.
Throughout the festival, various performances, children’s activities, concerts, and bingo draws will be held. The first day will conclude with concerts by Arda Gündüz and Serdar Demir.
Event Program
The second day of the festival, Saturday, will kick off at 20:30 with a performance by the Chinar Lovers Association Folk Dance Group. This will be followed by a Zumba Kids performance with Zehra Kulle at 20:45. At 21:00, the SER-SAD Turkish Music Choir will take the stage. The night will also feature fire dancing performances and concerts by Group S.O.S and Muhittin Yangın.
Final Day
The final day of the festival on Sunday will start with DJ Yusuf Coşkuner’s performance at 20:00. At 21:30, the famous artist Mustafa Ceceli will take the stage. The event will culminate with a grand fireworks display and a bingo draw.
