The cultural richness of Northern Cyprus, particularly Iskele, was showcased at a promotional event held in Finike in August 2026. The event, conducted in collaboration as a sister city initiative, took place in Finike City Square and captured significant attention.
Hosted by Finike Municipality, the event featured a performance of traditional folk dances presented by the Iskele Cultural and Arts Association, which received great acclaim from the attendees. In addition to the traditional performances, the cultural values of Iskele and the unique traditions of Cyprus were highlighted during the event. In this context, the event also strengthened the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the two cities.
Iskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu conveyed his greetings to Finike Mayor Mustafa Geyikçi and all the people of Finike during his speech at the event. This message was delivered to the participants through Iskele Municipality’s Cultural, Arts, and Foreign Relations Advisor Özlem Kadirağa, creating an atmosphere that emphasized the friendship between the two cities.
In their evaluation, Iskele Municipality expressed the joy that comes from sharing the cultural values and traditions of the regions. They also extended their gratitude to Finike Municipality, the people of Finike, and the Iskele Cultural and Arts Association for their successful performances during the event.
Finally, the message of the event was expressed as “Our culture is common, may our brotherhood be everlasting.” This aimed to further solidify the cultural exchange and friendship between the two cities.
