The Secretary-General of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Mehmet Kale Kişi, has delivered stern criticisms regarding the government’s census and financial policies. Expressing his criticisms through social media, he stated, “If it weren’t for the tragic situation they have brought the country to, it would actually be good humor. But unfortunately, we are in a situation that is not funny at all.”
Kişi also emphasized the severity of the issue by addressing the Interior Minister’s expectation that the census, which needs to be conducted, should be handled by the mayor, along with the questions raised by the Finance Minister regarding the payment method of the debt incurred during the CTP’s period. He highlighted that such attitudes from the government exacerbate the country’s problems.
Mehmet Kale Kişi also referred to recent remarks made by Erhan Arıklı about why CTP could not come to power alone in the 2003 elections. In response to questions about CTP’s current status following such criticisms, he underscored the public’s trust in CTP.
Kişi stated, “The answer is actually 2 sentences,” elaborating, “The public trusts CTP and no one like you has ever come or been seen.” He expressed that the public would take action to bring about the necessary change, and reiterated CTP’s goal of revitalizing the country with a responsible governance approach.
Finally, he declared, “The countdown has begun. The public will do what is necessary, and we will also fulfill our responsibilities.” Kişi clearly articulated the political objectives and aims of CTP while the party relies on public support to change the current situation.
