The new e-visa regulations have officially announced the fee structure. According to the E-Visa Regulation approved by the Council of Ministers, citizens of Nigeria, Armenia, and Syria will be able to apply through the e-visa system in the initial phase. It is anticipated that applications will be made via the internet.
According to the mentioned regulations, the fee for a single-entry e-visa has been set at 40 dollars, while the urgent (VIP/express) e-visa fee will be 80 dollars. Additionally, a multiple-entry e-visa will cost 80 dollars, and a multiple-entry urgent (VIP/express) e-visa will cost 120 dollars. It is reported that these fees will be collected from the applicants.
Foreigners coming to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for work or residence permits will be granted a single-entry visa, while applications for tourist purposes will allow either single or multiple entries, depending on the type of visa. Timelines related to this new application have also been clarified.
How Will the E-Visa Application Process Work?
It has been indicated that e-visa applications will be made online. The aim is to finalize all applications within 30 days, although under necessary circumstances, this period can be extended up to 60 days. However, obtaining an e-visa does not guarantee a right to enter TRNC.
Customs and immigration officers will have the authority to interview applicants at the border if deemed necessary, and based on these interviews, they have the right to deny entry to e-visa holders. Additionally, measures against fraud will take precedence; if false declarations are made or the purpose of the visa is violated, issued visas may be revoked.
Updates to Foreign Student Residence Permits
The student permit processes have been updated with new regulations. The duration of residence permits for associate, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students will be determined annually based on their study timelines. It is envisioned that a maximum of one year of student residence permit will be granted at a time.
Universities will be required to report foreign students’ educational status to the GöçSis system every three months. This system will facilitate the effective tracking of students’ study durations and ensure rapid processing in case of status changes.
