An investigation is ongoing regarding the armed attack on a nightclub in Alayköy. The suspects, K.B. (48) and D.D. (25), fired two shots at the nightclub’s sign using a shotgun, claiming that they were not sent a hostess. Following the attack, the suspects were detained, and the court decided to extend their detention for an additional 4 days after their court appearance.
On the night of the incident, August 28, 2026, the police reported that the suspects fired the shotgun after a dispute at the nightclub. Due to security violations, it was learned that the suspects were caught in a vehicle in Girne. During the search of the vehicle, the police seized the shotgun and 15 rounds of ammunition belonging to the suspects.
After the information presented in court, it was revealed that the shotgun belonged to another individual and would be sent for ballistic examination. It was noted that the shotgun is registered under the name Yaşar Falyalı, and investigations are continuing regarding how this occurred.
The police emphasized that the necessary procedures for obtaining statements are underway, and footage from cameras present at the time of the incident will be reviewed. Additionally, samples of hand and facial swabs from the suspects were collected and sent to the relevant departments.
The court drew attention to the seriousness of the crimes the suspects are facing and decided to keep them in police custody for 4 more days. It remains to be seen how the process will progress following the deepening investigation and examinations regarding the event.
