The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) hosted the Turkish Cypriot Police Association at its headquarters. CTP leader Sıla Usar İncirli welcomed the association and stated that strengthening the police force is a collective responsibility for society.
Key Issues Raised in Meetings
In addition to CTP leader Sıla Usar İncirli, the meeting was attended by General Secretary Mehmet Kale Kişi, Secretary for Relations with Civil Society Organizations Filiz Besim, and Secretary for Press, Broadcast, and Propaganda Ürün Solyalı. The president of the Turkish Cypriot Police Association, Yusuf Zeki Turan, along with board members, also participated in the meeting. The discussions focused on the importance of the police profession and the dedicated efforts of police personnel. The association’s management expressed gratitude to the CTP for its contributions to the development of the Police Organization Law.
Tackling Structural Issues
İncirli emphasized that solving the existing structural problems within the police force is critically important for the quality of public services. The meeting also addressed necessary steps to meet the needs of personnel working in the police force, improve technological infrastructure, and execute services more efficiently.
The General President highlighted that effectively conducting migration controls, supported by technology for ensuring public safety, is becoming increasingly important. In this regard, he underscored CTP’s commitment to continue its efforts to enhance the quality of public services with the statement, “Strengthening the police force is our shared responsibility.”
