Iskele’s Governor Ertuğrul Toroslu reported the extent of the damage caused by the rain and storm that affected the region yesterday. According to evaluations, Altınova was identified as the area most severely impacted by the storm. Toroslu stated that 10 barns, 17 structures (residences, warehouses, and businesses), one irrigated agricultural area, and one greenhouse sustained damage in Altınova.
Governor Toroslu emphasized that the magnitude of the damage left by yesterday’s storm was particularly evident in Altınova. He also noted that a greenhouse in Kuzucuk village had been damaged. He mentioned that damage assessment efforts are still ongoing.
Providing information about the damage assessment, Toroslu said that losses related to the barns would be determined by the General Agricultural Insurance, while damages related to homes, businesses, and warehouses would be evaluated by officials from the Iskele Municipality.
The Governor remarked that the damage caused by the storm is quite concerning, especially regarding agricultural and residential areas, and stated that necessary actions to facilitate the recovery process in the region will be carried out promptly.
Following the adverse weather conditions experienced in the Iskele region, it is expected that relevant institutions will accelerate damage assessment and recovery processes. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of preparing in advance to protect citizens from such natural disasters.
