Turkey organized many receptions at its embassies around the world to celebrate the 104th anniversary of August 30 Victory Day. This year, events were held in various cities such as Rome, Abuja, Vienna, Berlin, Moscow, Kuwait, and Cairo, bringing together diverse participants.
The reception in Rome was hosted by Turkey’s Ambassador to Italy, Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen. Turkish citizens living in Italy and local officials attended the event. In Abuja, Ambassador Mehmet Poroy hosted the reception, where a moment of silence was held for martyrs and veterans, and the national anthems of Turkey and Nigeria were played.
In Vienna, the reception organized by Ambassador Gürsel Dönmez welcomed ambassadors and military attaches from many countries. Turkey’s Ambassador to Berlin, Gökhan Turan, hosted the reception in the German capital, inviting the players and coaching staff of the Turkish National Women’s Basketball Team, which is preparing for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
In Moscow, Turkey’s Ambassador Tanju Bilgiç gathered military attaches, while in Kuwait, the event was led by Turkey’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Tuba Nur Sönmez. The Commander of the Kuwaiti Air Force, Pilot Major General Fahd Felah al-Hureynec, also attended the reception as an honorary guest.
The reception in Cairo was hosted by Turkey’s Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen. This event was attended by ambassadors from friendly and allied countries, around 60 military attaches, Turkish citizens, and guests from the business world.
Throughout all these events, participants were offered delicious Turkish cuisine, allowing everyone to share in the festive spirit of the holiday. These celebrations contributed to strengthening Turkey’s representation abroad.
