In statements made after the Cabinet meeting, Erdoğan emphasized that this process is a shared concern for all 86 million citizens of Turkey.
Highlighting that the goal of a terror-free Turkey has gained significant strength, Erdoğan stated that everyone should be a part of this process. He underscored that the laws passed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey allow for new steps to be taken toward this goal. He mentioned that the responsibility doesn’t solely lie with the government, but that every individual in the country should take ownership of this issue.
Continuing his speech, Erdoğan said, “No one has the right to infect this process. We cannot allow this process to be provoked or jeopardized. All attempts will be held accountable before history.” He emphasized the need for patience in the fight against terrorism and highlighted that everyone should share this burden.
Erdoğan expressed the intention to leave a more peaceful Turkey for future generations, stating, “Let us pay our debt to the martyrs and veterans. Let us overcome this problem together.” In this context, he expressed that everyone with differing views should participate in this struggle.
Additionally, Erdoğan remarked, “We have no hidden agenda. Our goal is to ensure the spread of peace and tranquility in the region,” reiterating that Turkey will continue to defend its principles. He also emphasized their commitment to support the development of neighboring countries.
After the meeting, President Erdoğan visited Selçuklu Martyrs’ Cemetery, where he offered prayers alongside Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Leader Devlet Bahçeli and the President of Religious Affairs Safi Arpaguş.
